Writer: Tony YasharTony Yashar

The Indians rebounded from a heartbreaking loss Tuesday night by blowing out the Reds on Wednesday at Progressive Field . One day after a nickname mix-up brought in the wrong reliever to face Joey Votto with the bases loaded in the ninth, the Indians recovered to avoid a sweep at the hands of their cross-state rivals.

Fueled by five straight base hits in the 3rd inning alone, the Indians scored nine runs en route to 19-4 destruction. Jose Ramirez hit his 26th and 27th HR’s of the season only trailing J.D. Martinez of Boston and Carlos Carrasco gave up one run in 5 innings. Every starter collected a hit and Carrasco got the victory again, winning his 4th victory in his last five outings

The Tribe’s record improved to 50-41, first in the AL Central and 6th in the conference, with their next game at home against the Yankees. The Yanks come to Progressive Field for a four-game road trip led by 2017 Rookie of the Year and Silver Slugger Aaron Judge.
