It appears that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is in Green Bay for Thursday’s preseason game against the Packers. In an article written by Steelers Wire writer Curt Popejoy, Roethlisberger was seen walking into a hotel with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
Roethlisberger was entered into the concussion protocol on Tuesday after the QB went down in pain during 7 on 7 drills. He was clutching his head momentarily before walking off the field under his own power. Later during practice, he was spotted speaking with staff members before leaving practice.

The significance of Ben flying to Green Bay is that getting on a plane the next day after suffering a concussion is not a good idea. Some patients have reported intensified headaches, fatigue, and nausea from flying with a concussion, which could be due to the turbulence or changes in cabin pressure. So, the fact that Ben was able to fly is an indication that the extent of a possible injury is mild at best.
The Steelers are preparing to play week two of the preseason so there is plenty of time for their Pro Bowl Quarterback to get healthy. Tomlin announced earlier in the week that Ben is not playing in this game as well as back Landry Jones. That leaves second-year man Josh Dobbs and 3rd rd pick Mason Rudolph to lead the offense.
