Browns rookie wide receiver Antonio Callaway was cited for marijuana possession and driving under suspension on Sunday morning at 2:59 am in Strongsville, Oh. Callaway, a fourth-round pick out of the University of Florida, fell to the middle of the draft because of his off the field problems.

The Associated Press reported that Callaway was asked to exit the vehicle after officer’s smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle after initially stopping the receiver for failing to yield to traffic.
Callaway reportedly told police that his vehicle had recently been shipped to him from Florida and was in use there by some friends. He claimed that he had no idea the vehicle had bullets in it nor was he knowingly in possession of marijuana.
The officers became nervous when he spotted a strap for a Glock, which is a semi-automatic pistol, by the seats and bullets in the center console.
Calloway recently was promoted to the first team shortly after the Browns had traded former first-round pick Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills. His issues are further compounded by the fact that he is already in the first stage of the league’s substance abuse program for a diluted urine sample prior to Aprils NFL draft.
