A rumor has been circulating that the Cleveland Cavaliers have a proposed trade offer ready to present to the Miami Heat in exchange for the services of disgruntled big man Hassan Whiteside.
This is indeed another step in the reshaping of the roster after the departure of the game’s greatest player LeBron James. James, who signed a 4-year contract to join the Los Angeles Lakers, left behind a roster that was totally catered to his skill set but lacking playmakers and pieces that were able fully showcase their individual skills.

The departure of James could be a blessing in disguise seeing as though unlike his first departure, there are players on the roster who not only can contribute but can grow in his absence. Obtaining a player of Whiteside’s caliber would shore up the Cavaliers defense, which ranked near the bottom of the league all year.
Michael Shofner of all you can Heat, reported that a proposed deal would likely include trading Tristen Thompson and sharp shooter Kyle Korver to the Heat in exchange for Whiteside. The deal would provide benefits for both teams, giving the Cavs a dominant defensive player and rebounder. It would also allow Kevin Love to return to his natural position at power forward.
The Heat would obtain sharpshooter Kyle Korver to anchor their bench and Tristen Thompson who is an excellent offensive rebounder. He also guards the perimeter extremely well, provides hustle, with a wealth of championship experience and provides the Heat with cap relief.
The Cavaliers are also interested in moving J.R Smith as well but have not had any interest from teams willing to take on his contract. They have been seeking a first round pick for Korver but have been unsuccessful in those efforts as well.
