Lakers legend Kobe Bryant has been settling into retirement very nicely. He has been on ESPN as a guest analyst, and recently is hosting a show called Detail on ESPN and won an Oscar for an animated show called Dear Basketball.

However, that has not stopped people from trying to persuade him to join the “The Big 3 “League. The Big 3 is a summer basketball league that features mostly retired NBA players. The league was founded by Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz in January of 2017. It is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament with rules that differ considerably from FIBA-sanctioned 3-on-3.
Ice Cube has been trying to recruit Kobe to play in the league since Its inauguration and recently Stephen Jackson made a plea to Kobe to come during an interview in which a reporter asked Jackson if the Lakers great could handle the physicality of the league.
Bryant’s wife Vanessa, recently shot down rumors that Kobe would be making a return to the NBA to team up with LeBron James who just signed a free agent contract with the team in July. Among other things she stated that Kobe is enjoying the retired life and he gets to spend more quality time with his family.
With this latest plea to see Kobe in a basketball uniform, one has to wonder if he will resist the temptation to play in the Big 3 league. With his reputation for being a fierce competitor, it may be a platform that may interest him. We will all be keeping an eye out to see if he indeed does consider returning to the court for the next Big 3 season.
